Conferences

This multi-day Conference, Protecting Our Forests: Adapting to the New Normal, will explore various forest threats such as wildfire and invasive species and discuss a variety of sustainable forest management practices that protect our wildlands, and learn about ways to ensure the safety and wellness of our current and future forestry workforce. The Conference will also include many activities where you can experience St. John’s and the surrounding area.

The BC First Nations Forestry Council looks forward to hosting the 2024 BC First Nations Forestry Conference on the traditional territories of the Syilx Okanagan people. We are humbled to be guests on the lands that they have been the caretakers and stewards of since time immemorial. From the nsyilxcən word snpintktn, the name Penticton has been commonly translated as “a place to stay forever,” but more accurately means “a place where people have always been all year long,” or “The Always Place”.

Continually evolving forest technology and eco-system management, changing regulations, policy initiatives and safety procedures, expanding markets and products, and a renaissance in jobs and new training opportunities are all reasons to come together to learn, discover and network at the Interior Logging Association’s Annual AGM & Convention. The event alternates venues each year to reach out to our association members and industry stakeholders throughout the southern Interior region. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet face to face, discuss current issues, learn about industry trends, see what’s new in machinery, kick some iron and explore new business ventures. We look forward to seeing you there.
