The BC Forest Safety Council has undertaken a major review of the SAFE Certified Companies pre qualification audit. This process is now at the discussion paper review stage, in which input from end users like yourselves is being sought by the Council. The newly released discussion paper outlines the proposed revisions to the new pre qualification standard. So far the revision process has been the product of a Council working group comprising of representation from various associations including the WSCA. Now in order to ensure that the final product is both practical and supported by the industry we are in an eight week public review period. Your input is needed to make sure the proposed standard reflects industry’s voice. The key document—the discussion paper—can be found at: www.bcforestsafe.org/prequalinput A press release can be found at: http://www.bcforestsafe.org/prequalnews1 As you will find out once you visit the Council site, the process includes a series of town hall meetings across the province starting in December. The whole process will conclude on 15th January, 2014. If you need more information, or if you would like to volunteer as part of WSCA working group to review the proposed changes, please get in touch with John Betts (admin@wfca.ca).
