WSCA Joins BC Safety Task Force Implementation Team

Worker’s Compensation Board Chair Doug Enns has asked the WSCA to assist in the implementation of the Forest Safety Task Force’s January 19, 2004 recommendations to rid BC’s forest sector of workplace deaths and serious injuries.

Worker’s Compensation Board Chair Doug Enns has asked the WSCA to assist in the implementation of the Forest Safety Task Force’s January 19, 2004 recommendations to rid BC’s forest sector of workplace deaths and serious injuries. The team will initially concentrate on four pivotal report recommendations including adopting an industry-wide health and safety accord, establishing an infrastructure to execute the accord, and setting standards for certifying workers and pre-qualifying contractors. The report includes treeplanting, conepicking, brushing, weeding, spacing and wild fire fighting as part of the forest sector.
