New occupational first aid regulations take effect in B.C. 30 March 2004. Amendments to Part 33 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations will soon call for performance-based requirements for first aid. To aid employers in adopting these new practices the Employers’ Advisers Office is sponsoring seminars throughout the province over the next few weeks.

Employers must conduct risk assessments of each workplace and design and write procedures for the provision of first aid.
